My essay: The advent of new technologies has changed the business world. It has massive benefits but also causes some problems that need to be dealt with. There are tremendous advantages. First, it is undeniable that, unlike humans who can generally work eight hours per day, automation technologies are capable of operating day and night, which means they outperform humans. Thus, organizations are attracted to using artificial intelligence as they all want to reduce costs and enhance productivity. In addition, it reduces accidents and improves workplace safety. In fact, such dangerous jobs as underground mining, working with chemicals, and heavy metal manufacturing that have caused numerous injuries or even deaths are now being taken over by AI. Robots are also used to inspect lethal situations in hazardous environments before humans begin working. Obviously, the benefits brought by automation technologies are significant. Nevertheless, there are not without consequences. Although AI replaces blue-collar workers in strenuous or unsafe tasks, it also causes unemployment, living many either temporarily or permanently unemployed. As a result, today more and more employees tend to face an uncertain future at work; the fear of job loss generates anxiety and lowers one’s well-being. Another disadvantage is that if robots take over cognitive jobs how do professions develop their future experts. One effective way of getting new work experience is to observe, meaning that a novice stands next to senior staff and learns by observation. When the work tasks are carried out by AI, then new employees need to find new ways to learn. Undoubtedly, the problems associated with the use of AI appears noticeable. In conclusion, while the invention of automation, robotics, AI, and other high-tech tools helps enhance workplace safety and production efficiency, we need to be aware of the drawbacks: the increase in the unemployment rate and the difficulty in training future specialist staff.
